About the author

Hello, my name is Leonid. It is pronounced as lē-ə-nid.

I consider myself being a solution architect. Like many of my colleagues I started as a software programmer – writing code that works. Made an upgrade to a software engineer – a programmer who develops a maintainable and enhancable software products. Then became a cloud and DevOps architect. For the past 5+ years I work at Google. I started in professional services at Google Cloud. And after a 3 year tenure as a Cloud infrastructure and application enginner at professional services I moved to advocacy. Currently I work as a Developer Relation Engineer (a Google version of Developer Advocate) at Google Cloud. My current focus of interest is observability. Most of my journey you can find in my profile LinkedIn.

I love nature. Hiking, swimming. When I find opportuntity horseback riding. If I’ve had enough time and resources, I would probably keep at home dogs, cats, parrots (that know to speak) and horses. For now it is a wild dream.

Feel free to reach out if you are in Pacific North West somewhere near Puget sound area.

About this blog

This blog is my personal project. It reflects my current interests and pursuits. I am writting about cloud services, observability, small bits of software engineer tricks and Today-I-Learned stuff. I also use this blog as a notebook for ideas and projects. To simplify the blog’s maintenance tasks I made it “static” i.e. it lacks majority of interactive features such as leaving comments. If you find something interesting, please leave your comment using the feedback form. I promise to reach out to you as soon as I can.

I do my best to avoid common biases. With that, my opinions by its nature are based on my personal experience, knowledge and ideas. Please, get familiar with the content [disclaimer].
